Web Apps is a highly cost effective and labour efficient management software. It seamlessly allows tens of thousands of personnel to communicate and manage complex tasks and timetabling, according to location and resources.
At a development cost of only £2,500, it saved Scottish and Southern Energy £215,000 in its first year of implementation. When first introduced Web Apps was a radical concept for SSE, until it very quickly optimised locational logistics throughout the company. The interpersonal interface could be accessed through the company’s intranet and used by 19,965 employees. It allows online customisation, and provides an interactive help desk.
Cost savings remain consistent each year because of the reduction in help desk operator usage. Staff were repurposed from internal telephone systems to a much needed internal company travel department.
